Sports terms
- Bib number: Number assigned to each athlete to identify them during the event.
- Chip: Electronic device that records timing splits.
- Kit: Set of items given to the athlete (bib number, chip, shirt, hydration).
- Gun time: Time from the start signal until crossing the finish line.
- Chip time: Actual time from when the athlete crosses the start line until crossing the finish line.
- PR / PB: Personal Record / Personal Best. Best personal time.
- DNF: Did Not Finish. Athlete who did not complete the course.
- DNS: Did Not Start. Registered participant who did not start the event.
- DQ: Disqualified.
Platform terms
- Registration: An athlete’s primary record in an event. It can have multiple linked orders.
- Order: A payment transaction (fee, store, distance change, extras). One registration can have multiple orders.
- Locator: Unique registration code. Does not change when transferring the spot to another athlete.
- CR (Change Rate): Registration status with a fee change pending payment.
- Category: Participation type with a defined distance, division, and age group.
- Fee: Price of a category during a specific period.
- Pricing schedule: Tiered fees based on dates.
- Discount code: Coupon used to reduce the price of a registration or product.
- Settlement: Transfer of collected funds to the organizer after deducting fees and taxes.
- Audit: Traceable record of all changes made in the system.
- Complimentary registration: Free registration granted by the organizer.
Financial terms
- APPROVED: Order with successful gateway payment.
- FAILED: Order with rejected or failed payment.
- PENDING: Order in checkout not completed, or fee change awaiting payment.
- Gateway fee: Charge from the payment processor per transaction.
- Platform fee: Rocky Global’s fee on the organizer’s sales.
- Withholding tax: Advance tax deducted per tax regulations.
- Refund: Money returned to an athlete.
